THE MAESTRA AND THE PRODIGIES
A graduate of the Juilliard school in New York City, pianist Elyane Laussade has delighted audiences on five continents with her imaginative and strongly individual playing. The New York Times has said she is ‘a pianist with a powerful, polished technique and many an original interpretive notion, with an impeccable sense of style and dazzling power.
Originally from the USA, Elyane has now established herself as one of Australia’s finest performers. She has performed on numerous occasions with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and has been featured by ABC Classic FM and 3MBS in studio recordings and live broadcasts.
Elyane’s most recent endeavour is the Mozart Project which will see her perform all 27 Mozart piano concertos with orchestras around Australia. She enjoys a rich chamber music involvement along with her solo career.
In this concert Elyane will showcase four of her 14 year-old virtuoso students with the following program:

Chloe Huo – Ricercare and Toccata by Gian Carlo Menotti
Gabby Li – Nocturne in Db Major, Opus 27 No. 2 by Frederic Chopin
Thea Lukito – Ballade No. 3 in Ab Major, Opus 47 by Frederic Chopin,
Serenity and Chloe – Waltz, from Souvenirs for 4-hands by Samuel Barber
Gabby and Thea – Sonata in D Major Opus 6 for four hands, first movement, Allegro
– Ballet, from Petite Suite for 4 hands by Claude Debussy, 3 minute
Dr Elyane Laussade – Rigoletto Paraphrase by Verdi/Liszt
Finale: Serenity, Chloe, Gabby, Thea – Sabre Dance by Katchaturian, arranged for 8 hands
